A centralized command dashboard
for airport development across India.

A Web-Based Airport Development & Project Progress Monitoring System built for the Airport Authority of India (AAI), giving senior management a real-time, single-screen view of infrastructure progress nationwide.

OVERVIEW

We developed a Web-Based Airport Development & Project Progress Monitoring System for the Airport Authority of India (AAI) to provide senior management with a centralized, real-time view of the progress of airport infrastructure and development activities.

The system enables GM, Director and other authorized AAI officials to monitor the progress of multiple airport projects through a comprehensive management dashboard, without having to depend on manually prepared reports.

1 · CENTRALIZED AIRPORT PROGRESS DASHBOARD

The application provides a single dashboard showing the overall status of airport development activities. Management can view:

  • Overall project progress
  • Airport-wise progress
  • Department/work-category-wise progress
  • Planned vs. actual progress
  • Completed, ongoing and delayed activities
  • Pending activities
  • Critical/overdue milestones
  • Upcoming activities
  • Contractor/agency-wise progress
  • Project completion percentage

A graphical dashboard allows senior officers to quickly identify which airport or activity requires attention.

2 · MONITORING OF MAJOR AIRPORT DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES

The application can track the complete lifecycle of airport development work, including:

Civil Works

  • Terminal building construction
  • Runway development
  • Taxiway
  • Apron
  • Roads and parking
  • Boundary wall
  • Buildings and other infrastructure
  • Structural and architectural works

Electrical Works

  • Electrical installation
  • HT/LT systems
  • Substations
  • DG sets
  • Lighting systems
  • Airfield lighting
  • Power distribution

Equipment Installation & Commissioning

  • Airport equipment
  • Security equipment
  • Passenger-handling equipment
  • Baggage systems
  • Communication equipment
  • Navigation equipment
  • Other technical installations

CNS / Communication & Navigation

  • Communication systems
  • Navigation systems
  • Surveillance systems
  • Radio equipment
  • Instrumentation
  • Control and monitoring systems

Signalling / Airfield Systems

  • Airfield signage
  • Signalling systems
  • Approach systems
  • Runway-related systems
  • Lighting/signage integration

Flight Calibration

  • Flight calibration activities
  • Calibration schedule
  • Planned calibration
  • Completed calibration
  • Pending calibration
  • Observations and compliance status
3 · PLANNED VS. ACTUAL PROGRESS

One of the key features is the ability to compare planned progress against actual progress. For example:

ActivityPlannedActualStatus
Civil Work80%72%Delayed
Electrical65%68%On Track
Equipment55%45%Delayed
Signalling70%70%On Track
Flight Calibration40%30%Pending

This enables senior management to immediately identify schedule deviations and critical areas.

4 · AIRPORT-WISE MONITORING

The system can provide a consolidated view of all airports under the concerned AAI region/authority. Management can select an airport and drill down into:

Airport → Project → Work Package → Activity → Milestone → Current Status

This provides senior officers with both a high-level management view and detailed project-level information.

5 · TRAFFIC-LIGHT STATUS MONITORING

For quick decision-making, activities can be classified into:

  • 🟢 Green — On Track
  • 🟡 Amber — Attention Required
  • 🔴 Red — Delayed/Critical
  • 🔵 Blue — Completed

The dashboard therefore allows the Director/GM to identify critical projects immediately without going through lengthy reports.

6 · MILESTONE & DEADLINE MANAGEMENT

The application maintains important project milestones such as:

  • Work commencement
  • Target completion date
  • Equipment delivery
  • Installation
  • Testing
  • Inspection
  • Commissioning
  • Calibration
  • Final acceptance

The system can highlight overdue and upcoming milestones and generate alerts for responsible officials.

7 · PROGRESS REPORT & DOCUMENT MANAGEMENT

Project teams can upload supporting documents such as:

  • Progress reports
  • Site photographs
  • Inspection reports
  • Test reports
  • Completion certificates
  • Contractor reports
  • Drawings/documents
  • Calibration reports
  • Approvals and correspondence

This creates a centralized digital repository associated with each project/activity.

8 · ROLE-BASED ACCESS

Different users can have different access levels.

Director / Senior Management

  • Consolidated dashboard
  • All-airport visibility
  • Progress analysis
  • Exception reports

GM / Regional Management

  • Airport/region-wise monitoring
  • Project progress
  • Milestone monitoring
  • Reports

Project/Engineering Team

  • Activity updates
  • Progress entry
  • Document upload
  • Site updates

Contractor/Agency

  • Assigned work progress
  • Milestone updates
  • Document submission
9 · MANAGEMENT REPORTS

The system can automatically generate:

  • Airport-wise progress report
  • Project-wise progress report
  • Civil work report
  • Electrical work report
  • Equipment installation report
  • Signalling report
  • Flight calibration report
  • Delayed activity report
  • Pending milestone report
  • Planned vs. actual report
  • Monthly progress report
  • Executive summary report

Reports can be exported in PDF/Excel formats for review meetings and management presentations.

10 · EXECUTIVE DASHBOARD

The most important aspect of the application is the Executive Dashboard. A typical dashboard can show:

Total Airports | Total Projects | Projects On Track | Delayed Projects | Critical Activities | Overall Completion %

This gives senior AAI management a single-screen overview of the current airport development situation.

PROJECT SUMMARY

Airport Authority of India — Airport Development Progress Monitoring Web Application

Frostline Technologies developed a comprehensive Web-Based Airport Development & Progress Monitoring Application for centralized monitoring of airport infrastructure and development activities. The system enables senior officials including General Managers, Directors and authorized AAI management personnel to monitor the real-time status of airport projects through an interactive management dashboard.

The application tracks multiple work categories including civil construction, electrical works, equipment installation, communication and navigation systems, signalling/airfield systems, testing, commissioning and flight calibration activities. It provides airport-wise and project-wise progress monitoring, planned-versus-actual analysis, milestone tracking, delay identification and exception reporting.

A graphical traffic-light dashboard highlights projects and activities that are on track, require attention or are delayed. The system also supports document management, progress photographs, role-based access, automated reports and management-level MIS.

The solution provides AAI management with a centralized, transparent and data-driven platform for monitoring airport development, enabling faster identification of delays, better coordination among stakeholders and more effective project decision-making.
